Today is the day I start my journey documenting and sharing how I see the world. I’ve been working for others for years producing content, but now is the time I go solo. I have covered dozens of events mostly about extreme metal music through the years. Starting out as photographer, and then taking more and more responsibilities at creating written content. I’ve wanted to expand to creating content about the many this that I can experience in Helsinki. This city, despite being relatively small with a population of 1 million, gives us a broad selection of music, culture and events that is a source of envy for many people who’ve learned about it. Helsinki is my home, but it is not where I’m from. The older I get, the more deeply I care about this city and it’s inhabitants. I want to spread a message on how it is actually to live here in this city, and in the Finnish culture.
When asked from non-Finns they often say that these nordic, stubborn and melancholic folk are a breed of their own. The incredibly difficult language is matched by equally complex people, whose minimalistic way of expressing even the deepest emotions make many wonder if depression here is a national feature, instead of a mental disease. I will be sharing my discoveries of quirky interesting habits, creations and ways of these gloomy northerners.
I have a passion for photography, and I want to show the world what I can create with a camera. There are magical details in mundane events, endless beauty in nature and undying passion in performing arts – and I want to capture all of them. Maybe on day I can spend all my days roaming the earth, finding incredible things, and bring these experiences for everyone to see and read. I don’t know if I’ll ever get there, but I plan to share anything and everything worth mentioning about in this site. Welcome reader!
